In Memory

Jeanne Stevenson (Garcia)

Jeanne Stevenson (Garcia)

Jeanne Stevenson Garcia who recently celebrated her 65th birthday on August 19th  passed away on August 29, 2018.  She had health issues for the last three years and has been unable to work.  She passed away from complications.  Many of us remember her fondly through our childhood years at Bear Lake Elementary, South Seminole Jr High and Lyman.   Also several of us attended Church together at Bear Lake Presbyterian.  Our Sunday School Class was an active one and had many fun outings together.   Rest in Peace my dear friend.

So sorry to hear this sad news. Jeanne was a wonderful person and I remember her fondly from the classes we shared. So glad I got to see her at some of our reunions. Her family is in my prayers. RIP sweet Jeanne.

Jeannie, Karen, my twin Debbie and myself grew up together in the Bear Lake area.  Great memories of attending school and church together. She will missed.

Jeanne and I were such close friends growing up together but lost contact with each other after our high school years.

I remember the pranks I would pull on Jeanne like the time I cut off her pony tail when she was talking on the phone at my house. Bad I know, but Jeanne could never stay mad at me for very long. Now that's a true friend!

We never know when we will no longer have the opportunity to let someone know we love them and how special they are.

I had every intention of wishing Jeanne a happy birthday but procrastinated, so now, sadly, I can remove that from my "to do" list.

Jeanne had such a sweet spirit and I cherish our past times together.

Karen, Bill said you and Jeanne remained close. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope to see you at the next school reunion.

Jeanne and I did remain close over the years as we shared the same Birthday  and would spend that day together or talk on the phone on our special day.  The running joke was I was the oldest as I was born about two hours before her on that day.  When I lived down here before we spent more time together and would always get together when I came to Orlando for visits.  As I have been unpacking ths last week I have been going around the house and noticing all the things she had given me over the years and she was constantly on my mind.   I did not find out until yesterday that she passed away last week.  In hindsight I guess she was messaging me from heaven and I am sure she knows how much I will miss her friendship.  One really fun time we had was when we went to the Winter Ice Event at  the Gaylord Hotel and even though they gave us warrm coats it was still cold.  But we went down the ice slides several times and spent time just walking around looking at all the ice sculptures.  We each got the same Christmas Ornament from the gift shop another way of staying close when I was in Georgia.    This year when I put that ornament on the tree it will be bittersweet.  Rest in peace my dear friend until we meet again.

Jeanne and I became friends after high school — we dated brothers.   She and I were together on multiple double dates and at family gatherings.  And we got along famously.  Then, my guy and I parted ways — and she married hers.  I saw Jeanne at our reunions, and I was looking forward to seeing her at the big 50.  That she will not be there hits me hard.  She was a pure soul.  So sad that she is no longer with us, such a loss of a truly good person.
