Allen Layman

Allen P. Layman - Melbourne - Allen P. Layman, 56, of Melbourne, died Sunday, September 20, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Allen was born in Orlando, FL on December 28, 1952. Allen was owner and operator of Benchmark Dental Labs of Brevard. He was preceded in death by his father Ted and sister Kaye. Survivors are devoted and loving wife Mary and his stepdaughters Aimee and Amanda Ramos, his mother Catherine Layman and his brother William (Bill) Layman. Calling hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday followed by a 2 p.m. Memorial Service at Davis- Seawinds Funeral Home, 560 Montreal Avenue, Melbourne, Fl. Davis Seawinds is entrusted with the arrangements.

I met Allen in 5th Grade at Altamonte Elementary.   We were great friends from that point on even though he and another boy got me, Diane, him and the other boy kicked off patrols for making us laugh during music.

He was there for me when my dad died in 7th grade and I never forgot that.  Allen actually died on the anniversary of my dad's death. 

He was a party boy but he was a very caring person.

Love and miss him.  Talked a few years ago trying to get him to come to one of our get togethers but he was unable to at that time.

Miss and love him...

YEAH ALAN AND I WERE FRIENDS ,NOT AS MUCH IN SCHOOL BUT AFTER,HE CERTAINLY WAS THE BEST DRESSED GUY IN CLASS,WAS INTELLIGENTLY AND COMICALLY AHEAD OF US ALL,HE WAS ALSO A FRIEND OF MY BUDDY KARPO,I NEVER DID FIGURE OUT WHY HE WENT TO MELBOURNE, WAS HE A SURF FREAK OR WAS IT FAMILY???HE WAS ONE OF THOSE WHO COULD WEAR A GANT SHIRT,ANYONE REMEMBER THE TIME HE RAN DO WN THE AISLE AND JUMPED ON STAGE THAT TIME???PRETTY GOOD !
