Robert "Bobby" Hall Duffey, 79, passed after a long illness on Wednesday, September 27, at his home in Fulton, Mississippi. Bobby was born in Jackson, TN on January 22, 1944, to Marshall Truett Duffey and Annie Lee Hale Duffey. He grew up in Gibson and later Humboldt, TN graduating from Humboldt High School in 1962. He then got his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Tennessee at Martin and his master's degree at Middle Tennessee State University. Bobby was an educator, teaching biology, chemistry, and physics for 30 years in Florida and Tennessee. He retired from Milan High School and was well loved by all his students and encouraged many to go on to pursue science careers. Bobby was an avid Tennessee athletics fan, especially the Tennessee Volunteers. In his younger years, he loved the outdoors, especially camping and the music of Neil Diamond, Cat Stevens, and Seals and Crofts.

Bobby is survived by his third wife, Brenda Moore Duffey, a native of Fulton, who he married in 2003. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren, Robert Currin Duffey (Anna) of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren Jonathan and Anna; LeAnne Duffey Bolden (Mike) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; granddaughter Brooke; Marcie Duffey Halliday (Tom) of Columbus, Ohio grandchildren; Truett, AJ, Emerson, and Mary Grace; and Stacy Duffey Harrison of Milan, TN; grandchildren Madeleine and Marshall. He also leaves two stepchildren Derrick Nunnally (Megan) of Tacoma, WA; step grandchildren Cora and Liam; Nicholas Nunnally (Leigh Anne) of Ferndale, MI; step grandchildren Lucas and Parker and 4 great grandchildren.

Bobby was predeceased by his second wife, Wendy Cox Duffey, (June 2001) the mother of Stacy and his first wife, Marcia Heglar Duffey, (January 2023) the mother of Currin, LeAnne, and Marcie. He also was predeceased by his brother, Horace Hale Duffey, and his parents.

A small private memorial will be held at White Rose Cemetery in Gibson, TN. In his memory, donations can be made to Milan Endowment for Growth in Academics (MEGA), a non-profit that gives grants to teachers to provide educational opportunities to students in the Milan Special School District.
