Obituary for Stanley P. Human

Born in San Antonio, Texas, an Air Force kid, Stan and his family moved around a bit as you might imagine, including time in Ohio where he fell in love with the Ohio State Buckeyes. But don't think for a minute he didn't love UCF. He, Mary Ann and his nephew Jason (Carly) traveled to plenty of those games long before UCF was part of the national conversation.

A proud alum of Florida Technological University, now UCF, Stan had kicked around the idea of vet school, but instead he went… back to Seminole Community College to be a firefighter/EMT. Stan worked for the Seminole County Fire Department, the Altamonte Springs Fire Department, and finally back to Seminole County after the merger. While with the Altamonte Springs Fire Department, he earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Rollins College. Stan loved public safety, at one point being the Emergency Medical Services Manager and Commander. Stan was also instrumental in the accreditation process, a sign of professional excellence. His dedication to public service meant that once he retired from active service he immediately went to become the professor/program manager of Emergency Medical Services at Seminole State College. He considered his role as an educator one of his greatest achievements.

Anybody who knew Stan knew he loved animals, which is exactly why at one point he pondered vet school. He supported various animal rescue groups, and had a soft spot for all critters. His four legged children included two Dalmatians and a springer spaniel. Don't we all wish we're the people our dogs think we are. An adventure of a lifetime to Alaska afforded him the opportunity to see one of his favorite animals, the humpback whale, in person.

He loved Mary Ann Frazier with all his heart. They shared their lives together for 35 years, even though Stan's cold feet never made it down the aisle.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Jane Human as well as his brother Fred.
Survived by Mary Ann, his brother Jerry (Tanya), his sister Jayne Albert (Roger), his uncle Al, aunt Charlotte, his nephew Jason(Carly) -- equally dedicated UCF fans -- and his niece Jennifer Baxter (Fred). Nephews Adam (Jen) Kevin, Shaun, Chad (Cari) nieces Karla and Deloria. Stan also has ten great nieces and nephews and two great great nieces. Stan always enjoyed being around his family. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, Stan requested a donation be made to his favorite charity, the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. Services will be held at the Northland Church, Longwood on Friday May 17th at 2pm.

Thank you for reposting this on our website.  I think most of us who went to SSJH remember Stan as a really nice guy and good friend.
