I believe that Pug died from complications of cervical quadriplegia suffered on New Year's Eve. I visited him in the hospital several times during the holidays. The prospects of long life were dismal at best at that time. He must have passed sometime by 1970. Rest In Peace!

I am sorry to hear he suffered so.  God rest his soul and send peace and comfort to his family and friends.

I visited Pug in the hospital in June of 68 while on my way to Viet Nam. I was informed of his injury and prognosis from Coach Winstead. It was a tragedy and great loss for Pug's family and those of us who knew him. Rest in peace Pug.

I went to grammar school with Pug and his sister. We were both on the high school football team. Dave Marvicka was first string center on the B team, I was second string and Pug was third. It was sad when he passed so young.
