Kristi Baker (McLain)

Kristi Baker McLain, 48, of Nacogdoches passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016, in Dallas, Texas.  She was born on October 2, 1967, in Lufkin, Texas.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, Texas with Paul Sevar officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. 
     Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Laird Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 PM.

     Kristi grew up in Lufkin, Texas and graduated from Lufkin High School in 1986. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting. She worked with George Clarke and Associates as a certified public accountant making partner. Upon George Clarke’s retirement, Kristi became full owner renaming the business McLain and Associates, LLC. Kristi was a board member for Bethel Cemetery. She was also actively involved in Calvary Baptist Church, and served on the finance and sound committee. She also served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for Troop 9017. Kristi was a down-to-earth and beautiful, brilliant individual. Her treasured moments were spent with family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved nieces and nephews. In her spare time, Kristi could be found scrapbooking or watching NASCAR. She was an avid sports fan! She also had a great passion for traveling, and water Zumba.

     Kristi is survived by her parents, Kenneth D. Baker and Gwen Rials Baker of Lufkin, Texas; her beloved husband, James Randy McLain of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughter, Kristian Hope McLain of Nacogdoches, Texas; son, Tyler Craig McLain of Nacogdoches, Texas; brother, Kenny Mark Baker and wife, Alesa of Lufkin, Texas; sister-in-law, Sharon McLain Brown and husband, Davis Brown of Bullard, Texas; nephews, Matt Baker and wife, Katie of Lufkin, Texas, Hunter and Parker Brown of Bullard, Texas; nieces Jennifer Neuenschwander and husband, David of The Woodlands, Texas, and Kelli Baker of Conroe, Texas.

Pallbearers for Kristi’s service are George Clark, Mark Clark, Matt Baker, Doug Kirk, Hunter Brown, and Parker Brown.
