Anna Marie Robbins (Gottlieb) 1952 - 2014

Anna Marie Robbins (Gottlieb), 62, of Fairlawn, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at her home, after a years long, courageous struggle with genetic pulmonary disease.

She was born January 25, 1952 in Cleveland to the late Ben N. and Doris V. Gottlieb. Those whom she leaves to cherish her memory include her husband, Howard S. Robbins; her sister, Yvonne D. Koenig; her brothers, Marvin E., Barry D., Julius L. ("Lee"), Richard A., and James R.; and sisters-in-law, Marcie R. Gottesman, Deborah J. Terdan ("Jesse"), and Amie S. Medvetz. Others include many nephews and nieces and their families, and her many dear friends and students.

Anna Marie earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State University and a Masters of Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She was a lifelong professional educator of persons of all ages and abilities, from children with learning disabilities and behavioral disorders to gifted adults. She taught a broad range of subjects including special education in Coventry Local Schools, computer science and programming at the University of Akron and Stark State College (SSC), and homeland security at SSC. Anna Marie was an accomplished artist, and particularly loved colored pencil drawing, greeting card creation, and nature photography.

Anna Marie will be remembered as a great and generous lady with a wonderful sense of humor who was loved by all. Her most favorite activity was taking long walks with her loving and devoted husband, Howard.

Donations may be made in her memory to: the Anna Marie Robbins Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund at SSC in North Canton (starkstate.edu); Evant, Inc. in Stow (evantinc.org), an agency providing support to adults with developmental disabilities; or to a charity of your choice/var/folders/pt/cbx0w3sn73z_f33m2p2stp1w0000gn/T/com.microsoft.Word/WebArchiveCopyPasteTempFiles/condolences-charities.aspx%3Fkeyword%3Dcoycada%26pid%3D170183320%26fn%3DAnna%26ln%3DRobbins&sz=1x1&c=628709169.

In keeping with Anna Marie's wishes, there will be no services. A celebratory gathering is being planned. Leave an electronic condolence for further information, when it is available.

I am saddened to hear of Anna's passing.  She was my first date.  We went to the Bolton School Carnival.  I was scared to death.  My Mom drove us and I sat as far away as possible in the huge back seat.  I was thrilled to see her at one of the Brush get togethers.  RIP Anna.

Very sad to hear of Anna’s passing .  We became friends at Memorial.  We always seemed to end up in the same math class in Jr. High, and eventually we made it through Algebra, with the help of her older brother! We use to do our homework problems over the phone together in the evenings- and her brother was in the background making sure we were on the right track! We shared many laughs over Algebra.. ( of all things!) Anna was incredibly kind and thoughtful.
