In Memory

Cynthia Lange (Vasu)

Priscilla Capuano Gompers sent us this notice of Cyndy's passing in April 2016:

"Cyndy and I grew up together on Fairlawn Road in Lyndhurst. We were the best of friends from 3rd grade--all the way through our college years. We remained in touch with each other and stayed close. She was the dearest and sweetest friend anyone could hope for. She was a talented artist and had a passion and interest in every day beauty... She designed her Xmas cards--all a work of art. So glad I saved them. Cyndy--the world was a better place with you. My heart goes out to her lovely family. I shall miss you.

"Cyndy's first husband was Bob Rindfleisch (class of 70 as well) Wonderful guy. They made a very kind, thoughtful and gentle couple. They had two lovely daughters together. He passed away I believe sometime in the early '90s. Don't quote me on that. Cyndy obviously remarried another great guy (Bill Vasu) and has always resided in the Cleveland suburbs. Most recently she and Bill built a cool home in a woodsy area of Chagrin Falls. They were very proud of it and only lived there a short time before Cyndy's passing. Her daughters Elise and Briana did not give details of her cause of death. They are very private... And did not want to focus on that... They want their mother remembered for her love and dedication to family and the world of art. Contributions can be made in Cyndy's Memory to the Cleveland Institute of Art. Just thought I would pass that on."

Never thought i'd be reading this news. Thanks, Pris. i had the duty of picking Cyndi up for the kidnap breakfast -- one of the funniest memories of her. Lovely, kind, beautiful person.

Cyndy was my friend.  She was kind and sweet.  The world is a little less bright for her passing.

I am totally shocked.  We dated off and on in junior high and high school and I have always had a special place for Cyndy.  My deepest sympathies to her family
