Susan Vincent Friedman wrote to let us know of Gary's passing:

I grew up with Gary in South Euclid. We were friends for most of our lives. I have fond memories spending time with Gary and his family when we were growing up then years later, spending time with he and his wife Susan. Gary was a very talented musician (played the piano) and just loved to have fun!! He always made my laugh. Gary introduced me to my husband Dan in 1989 and that is something I will always be grateful for. He will be greatly missed.

Gary was a neighbor of mine. We both lived on Wilmington Rd. He lived a couple of doors down from me. He always was a great kid. He didn't have an enemy in the world. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Paul.

I am so sorry to hear of Gary's passing on.  We were great friends at Rowland Elementary School. We remained good friends in junior high, too. He always had a positive attitude. We reconnected again as adults when I came to know his mom and soon realized she was Gary's mom! Susan is an awesome lady. He will be missed by many people.

So sorry to hear this. I was inspired by his daily walks always out there in the cold and the rains as well, an inspiration. Gary was a friend since elementary school. We lost touch over the years and then reconnected with him when he was head of the graphics department at Telarc Records. I was co-producing a project for Maria Muldaur and we were working with Gary to my great suprise. We worked on multiple projects. My condolences to his family. Love your friends and family tell them cause life goes by so fast!

This was such sudden and sad news. Gary was a friend from Rowland all the way through high school. He was such a nice person with a good sense of humor. I am so sorry for Susan, his wife of many years. RIP Gary- you will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Gary's passing. We knew each other since elementary school.  Only saw him a couple of times after high school graduation when we both lived in Lyndhurst.  May he rest in peace.

I also grew up on Wilmington, and long before Paul Joseph moved across the street from me, I remember Gary.  We were very young, maybe even before kindgerarten, and I remember "going down the street" to visit Gary.  We would watch TV, I think Ding Dong School with Miss Francis and the Howdy Doody Show,  and I remember his mom serving us grape juice and maybe cookies. Once we got to school, Gary wasn't in my class at Rowland, and so unfortunately, I don't have many memories of him.  I was so surprised to read Joel Jaffe's comments about Gary being head of Graphic Design at Telarc Records. His work involved two of my favorite fields, music and art.  I feel so sad that I didn't know about this side of Gary.  I lived in Warren, Ohio, for much of my adult life, and I find that I have been out of so many loops.  My condolences to his family.  And yet again, we are reminded of the speed of time passing and the importance of keeping old connections and forging new ones. I need to get better at that.  Life is way too short.
