David was truly a gentle and kind classmate. He never had a cross word for anybody and I know he .loved baseball. I always think fundly of David with a great big smile. RIP!!!
Simo was my best friend in high school and my college roommate at OU. We shared so many memories throughout the years. Always looked forward to spending time with Dave on my trips back home. We shared a common love of sports which brought us together when we first met at Greenview. Our last time together was at a CAVS playoff game in 2016 on there way to the championship. It was fitting that our last time together was at a sports event. Shout out to Sam Reiss, who got us the tickets. Condolences to Sally and Dave's children (David, Jeff and Matt).
Like Gary Loy, Simo was my best friend also, only when we were at Sunview and prior to that. Dave was my first friend ever. At 3 years old we played in his sandbox and learned how to play baseball together almost everyday. I remember when we shortened our last names one day to Simo and Ammo. It seemed to stick out of convenience for others. There's something special about the first friend you ever had. We were always glad to see each other when we got together. I was lucky to have him as a friend. It was a sad day for me when I learned he passed away. May he rest in peace.
Dave was a guys guy. Les Main, Dave, and I went to so many Tribe games together...many of them spur of the moment. We would always sit in foul territory in the right field stands at Municipal Stadium. The best memory was on May 30, 1977 when we went to see Dennis Eckersley face Frank Tanana and the Angels on a perfect night for baseball. Eck and Frank were both pitching great. After the 5th inning, Eck had not given up a hit and Les, Dave, and I would not even look at each other from that point until the end of the game. Jim Norris scored the games only run on a suicide squeeze and Eck threw the no hitter. We rejoiced like they had won the World Series! What a night.
I'll sure miss Dave. What a great friend. My sympathies to Sally and his entire family.

David was my very good friend in junior high. We laughed alot! I loved that guy! So sorry to learn that he's gone. The world is a little less kind.
