In Memory

Lawrence Thompson

Lawrence David Thompson, “Larry”, 67, passed away suddenly on October 26, 2018. Long time resident of Naples, Florida and owner of Thompson Landscape Company; formerly from Lyndhurst, Ohio.
Loving father of Amanda Thompson; dear brother of Bruce (Margaret), Leslie Scott (Bill), and Brian (Kim Branch) and uncle of Greg Scott, devoted friend to his first wife Leslie Collins Thompson.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Pat Thompson.
Larry’s life was blessed by so many long time friends, but especially by his close friends, who were like brothers to him, Joe Grande and Jim Magafas.
His life and business were greatly enhanced by his loyal landscape crew, headed by his long time foreman, Roberto Martinez. There will be a Celebration of Larry’s life at 4:00PM on Wednesday, November 7th at Harold’s Place/ Gulf Coast Inn, 2555 Tamiami Trail North, Naples, Florida.
In lieu of flowers or donations we ask that you enjoy life, everyday, as much as Larry did. Time waits for no one.

Plans are being made for an Ohio Celebration of Larry’s life to be held at a date and place to be announced shortly.

I had just sent LT a message 2 days ago telling him I was probably coming down to look at a property in Clearwater. Larry was the only guy that accepted me as as a true friend since he was new to the area as I was a bit of a loner. I shared a lot of off the wall times with him and his passing leaves a big hole in my life!!!  GOD BLESS MY FRIEND!! And my Deepest Sympathy to his  family!  Carl DeLembo

Larry moved to Lyndhurst from Holland, MI around 1965.  He looked like a cool enough guy, though all alone at the start of 8th grade at Memorial.  After suggesting our "squid" clique take him in, we became buddies, even doing a day in jail together (with Gordy Schabo) the summer of '67 when we slipped away to do up the town back in Holland.
