Jim moved in from Shaker Heights. He got our band a gig at the Shaker Heights Student Union, which was, of course, all black. That was quite a night! He always had the affable 19th-hole guy sort of look about him - figured he'd make a good lawyer. I saw him once at Cedar and Green after 1970, but was in the wrong lane and couldn't get back before he disappeared. I wasn't as aggressive in tracking people down back then as I am now! Sorry to hear that he got away.
