Debbie Adams (Myers)

Mrs. Debra Lynn Adams Myers, age 57, of Deputy, Indiana, entered this life on March 11, 1954 in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late, Walter & Memril Tingle Adams. She was raised in Madison and was a 1972, graduate of Madison Consolidated High School and attended Indiana University South East. She was united in marriage on December 22, 1972 to Danny Robbins. This union was blessed with two daughters. Deb had served as the Executive Director of Ohio Valley Opportunities, Inc. (OVO) from 1995 until she retired in June 2010. Before obtaining the position of Executive Director, Deb served for several years as the administrator of the Head Start Program and worked for a time with Employment & Training Program. She had also worked for Work Force Development in Madison for a short period of time. Deb was a member of many boards and committees in Southern Indiana, most recently on the boards of La Casa Amiga, the Scott County Partnership, Southern Indiana Housing Initiative and the Indiana Community Action Association. Deb was instrumental in acquiring many of the services provided by OVO during her time as Executive Director. For the past ten years it had been her objective to construct and provide affordable housing to the low-income elderly, disabled, and struggling families in each of OVO's service areas of Jefferson, Jennings & Scott Counties. More than 100 families and elderly and disabled members of our communities now live in nice, safe, affordable housing. Deb will be greatly missed. Her memory will be honored in the projects and programs she envisioned and brought to our communities. Deb had resided in Bedford, Indiana from 1981 - 1989 where she was a manager of Maurice's. Deb was united in marriage on May 16, 1991 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee to John D. Myers. Deb enjoyed working with stain glass in her spare time. She also enjoyed reading and boating on Hardy Lake. She dearly loved the view from her log home near Hardy Lake. Debra died Monday, March 14, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at her home in Deputy, Indiana.

I didn't know Debbie had left us.....I remember how pretty her mother dressed her when we all lived on West Main.....Now I'm SAD !!! :(
