In Memory

Mark Geiger

Mark committed suiced on February 25, 2006. He is buried at Arcola Cemetery near the front of the road.  coming up Arcola Rd. from Rt. 20 take the 2nd driveway which is closest to the Cemetery sign.  He doesn't have a headstone, just a marker with his name on it.  He is about 10 feet from the enterance and is buried near his mother

Unfortunately, most of my memories of Mark include the "almost" fights we got into in middle school. Seemed like they happened weekly, and I'm not even sure why. We didn't hang out, only knew each other from class. Regrets? Sure, but one day we'll meet where I hope to reconcile.

About 1 1/2-2 years ago I kept running into Mark and his brother "Spanky" (I can not remember his real name) around town. All of a sudden I quit seeing Mark. I figured our schedules where not overlapping, now I know what happened. Mark and I always got along and chatted about our lives when our paths crossed.

I was at that cemetery visting my grandparents graves and saw a headstone that was Mark's mom. I told my husband.."Aw, Mark Geiger's mom passed away" I then scanned over to a metal marker and was in shock to see that it had Mark's name on it. How very sad. I really liked Mark a lot. Whenever we saw one another, we always took time to chat and find out how each other was doing. Unfortunately, the last time I saw him was when I was at the Wheel and he was really depressed..we talked for a while at the bar and then went our seperate ways, that was the last time I saw him. :( May he now rest in peace.

what a shame!Mark and I had a blast on the wrestling bus in middle school,He and Glen Kirby and I where the only snuff chewers who would share chew in middle school.I think he threw up on the band bus because he was chewing,We also used to drink beer at Thompson drag raceway with Dave Bower. After graduation I saw him once at a new years party@DeRuberis party center.I couldnt talk to him for to long because I was tending bar. When Sue M.told me about it I was crushed.

My memories of Mark in School were mostly of him getting into trouble. Mark and I were hanging out alot the last few years of his life.I actually was with him the night he died. Mark was ill and I believe his world became smaller. I was surprised that so many people didn't know he died.

One memory of Mark I remember from school was him telling me not to put my lunch tray in the garbage. I didn't know why. So I did anyway. When I opened the trash hopper, a bunch of smoke came out.
