Carol Hughes Heflin experienced a lengthy illness and passed away at age 51 in Gulf Breeze, FL., on Sunday, May 23, 1993, of cancer.

She had been a resident of Gulf Breeze only two years, since 1981, and was a teacher's aide for the Escambia Board of Education.

She also had three cildren living in Florida. She was survived by a son, Marc Ramon Heflin of Pensacola; two daughters, Lucinda Dawn Heflin and Lori Anne Heflin. Both girls lived in Gulf Breeze. Carol also had two grandchildren.

Although she graduated from MHS, she was a native of Dawson Springs, KY, and had two surviving relatives in Clay, KY; two aunts.

Her funeral visitation was arranged in Florida by the Forest Lawn Funeral Home of Gulf Breeze. Burial was in Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay, KY, on Thursday, May 27, 1993. Arrangements in KY were conducted by Vanover Funeral Home of Clay.

Officiating at her funeral in Clay was Bishop Jimmy Bourland of Madisonville.
