Cherry Brown Clemson, 77, Madisonville, was born July 22, 1941, in Stanford, KY to the late Glenvar Brown and Mary Edythe Mabrey Brown. She passed away Nov. 3, 2018, at the Masonic Home in Shelbyville, KY. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jud Brown.
          Cherry attended UK and graduated Phi Beta Kappa; and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.  She retired after 39-years of teaching music and elementary school, and was an active member of the DAR. Her hobbies were traveling, playing piano, and watching all UK Athletics.
          She is survived by her son, Sean Clemson of Shelbyville, KY, and one brother, Mark Brown of Lexington, KY.  Visitation was be from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., Sat. Nov, 10, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home inMadisonville, then was followed by graveside services at noon, at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Rev. Jim McMurtrie officiating. The family thanks the staff of the Lantern of Morning Pointe in Frankfort and the staff of the Masonic Home of Shelbyville for their care of Cherry during this past year.
