David Gentry, 78, passed away on Thurs., Dec. 19, 2019, at the Linda E. White Hospice in Evansville, IN.  David was born Sept. 9, 1941, in Madisonville to the late Katherine and James "Jake" Gentry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy and sister, Wanda Hunter. David was a CSX engineer and co-manager at Kroger. He enjoyed golfing and watching UK Basketball.

David is survived by his wife Betty Lusk Gentry of 59-years; son, Kevin Gentry and daughter, Kathy Downey, both of Hanson and brother, Troy of Barnsley; grandson, Justin Gentry of Evansville, IN; granddaughters, Courtney Gentry of Elizabethtown, KY, Ashley Branson of Columbia, TN and Olivia Downey of Spring Hill, TN; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

David was a member of Hanson United Methodist Church. A memorial service was Sun. Dec. 22, 2019, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Tami Coleman officiating and Bro. Wayne Eastridge assisting in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home.  .www.harrisfuneralinc.com
