Madisonville native James Jerry Jones passed away on March 18, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C.  Jerry was born Dec. 27, 1940, to James J. and  LaVerne Scott Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Jan Wygal.

A graduate of MHS, class of 1959, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from a career in telecommunications and biomedical technology.

 Jerry is survived by his wife Nada Sue of Ayden, N. C., and two sons Jeffery Scott (Karen) and Dana Kelly (LoAn) and one grandson Brandon.  His surviving siblings are Penny Baker (Bobby) of Shepherdsville, KY, two brothers Thomas V. Jones of Madisonville, and John R. (Linda) Jones of Elizabeth City, N.C.
