John Thurmon Clayton, 64, of Madisonville,KY., died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, June 15,2005, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was born March 11, 1941, to Thurmon Clayton and Minnie Macyle Shanks Clayton Neisz. He was a retired coal miner and security guard.
He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Janice Faye Brooks Clayton, on Feb. 23,2000; stepfather, J. W. Neisz; and one brother, William Clayton.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Angelopoolos Clayton of Madisonville; one daughter, Constance R. "Connie" Bowles of Madisonville; three sons, Michael W. Clayton of San Leandro, Calif., and Russell L. Clayton and Carl Clayton, both of Madisonville; one stepdaughter, Jean Leyva of Mountain Valley, Calif.; one stepson, Carl E. Fuller of Minnesota; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside memorial services were in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville with Rev. Richard Sorrells officiating. Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
