Norma Sue Payne, was 71, and lived in Slaughters where we roller skated as kids.  She was born in Madisonville on July 30, 1941, and passed away Tuesday June 25, 2013.  Burial was June 29, 2013, in the Onton Cemetery in Onton, Kentucky.

 Her parents, Barkley Champion and Sybil Geneva (Hooks) Towne, had already passed away.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Thorpe Payne in 2008 and 1 sister Oweda Ann Qualls. She is survived by 2 sons: Tony Payne of St. Paul, MN,  Michael Payne of Slaughters and  5 Grandchildren: Tyler Payne, Dylan Payne, Benjamin Payne, Drew Payne and Maxwell Herron Payne. 

Sue had retired as a bank teller and was member of the Slaughters Baptist Church. Her family had asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Gideon’s International.
