William Rodgers

          William Henry “Buddy” Rogers .. age 78 .. passed away on May 24, 2017.  He was born Feb 6, 1939. In high school he was “Buddy” not William; and, full of good humor. He graduated from Madisonville High School (now Browning Springs) in 1959.  He passed away Wed., May 24, 2017, at Ridgewood Terrace Health.  Buddy’s parents were the late V.P. and Annie Kirksey Rodgers.  Buddy was a former National Guardsman, a retired UMWA coal miner and a member of Salem Baptist Church.  Buddy enjoyed the outdoors, joking with others and spending plenty of time with his grandkids.
    Buddy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Putman Rodgers; four sons, Rick Spain of Owensboro, Jeff (Heidi) Love of Albuquerque, NM, Nick (Lisa) Rodgers and Greg Rodgers all of Nortonville; seven grandchildren, Hannah Peveler of Hopkinsville, Mallory and Paige Rodgers of Nortonville, Julia Parrish of Yuma, AZ, Luke Love of Albuquerque, NM, Casey Spain of Hanson, and Josh Love of FL; and five great-grandchildren.
    Service will be Saturday, May 27, at Bandy Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.  Bros. Steve Rutherford and Jerry Brewer officiated.  Burial was at Nortonville’s Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation was Friday, May 26, at Bandy Funeral Home Friday, from 5:00  - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday after 9:00 a.m.  Pallbearers were Greg and Nick Rodgers, Casey Spain, Randy Blanchard, Seth Peveler, and Galvin Cavanah.  Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Love and Rick Spain.
