GREENSBORO James Scott Robards, Sr. passed away peacefully after a brief illness on October 16, 2018. He was 76. With him were his loving wife of 52 years Teddi Robards, his children, and grandson. He is survived by his wife; his three children, James Scott, Jr., Jennifer Rebecca, and Laura Beth; his grandson Codi James; and his sister Shirley Hiltz , and her husband Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents Marybelle and Eugene Robards, and his brothers, Robert and Steve. Jim was born in 1942 in Madisonville, KY. Out of high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in signals intelligence just a few short miles from the Iron Curtain. Jim and Teddi were wed at St. Hillary's Catholic Church in Washington, PA, in 1966. Jim is remembered as a self-educated lifelong learner who worked hard to provide opportunities for his children. For most of his life, he was employed in various sectors of the transportation industry. Memorial donations can be made to the Smithsonian Institution.
