Things you do in retirement, i.e, volunteer work, hobbies, etc.:

Since retiring in October 2007 after 18 years at The Medical Center, I have spent much of my time volunteering for Orchestra Kentucky. My responsibilites have included planning special events such as concerts with pre-concert dinners for 300 with Glenn Campbell in Fall of 2008 and Fall 2009's 10th Anniversary Gala featuring the 5th Dimension. Our Encore Board has raised some $123,000 for the orchestra in less than four years.

Hobbies, Fun:

I don't have any passionate hobbies-but aspire to read more, exercise more, and be at home working in the yard. My most valued time spent is with family and friends.
Since my husband's stroke in March 2010, we will need to regroup for a few months and spend more time at home while he continues therapy and gets stronger. Thankfully,he continues to improve his speech and right arm, hand and leg strength.

I must add that chairing our 50th class reunion has been fun since it has afforded me the opportunity to work with many classmates that I had not seen in years! It has been a real team effort but I especially thank Class President David Jordan for his ongoing efforts!

Who was your favorite MHS teacher (or teachers)?

Miss Finley, Mrs. Simmons and Miss Ruth Carr Williams. Special letters of invitation to attend our Saturday evening reception and dinner have been sent to Miss Finley and Miss Williams.

School Story:

One of my favorite memories is the year Bill Cox and I ( can't remember the others) ran for Student Government President. I felt fairly confident until Bill spoke- he was so impressive, eloquent and well informed that I think I voted for him myself! Deservedly, he won! To this day, I am impressed with his public speaking ability- he was and is much more than our story telling funny guy!

Memories (Madisonville, School, anything):

It was truly a pleasure to be Chairperson for our 50th Class Reunion! Class President, David Jordan and our reunion committee worked hard planning a fun, memorable weekend. I already look forward to us getting together again!

I sincerely think our class was- and still is- made up of especially good people. Just being with everyone again reinforced my feelings and I remain grateful for our high school friendships. Treasured memories!
