Andrew Calve

 Andrew John Calve, 59, of Andover, formerly of. Manchester, husband of Christina M. (Adams) Calve; died unexpectedly Wednes­day, Nov. 7, 2001, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 18, 1942, in Manchester, the son of Elsie (Per­tusati) Calve of Manchester and the late John Calve Jr.; and had resided in Manchester for most of his life before moving to Andover in 1993. He attended local schools, was a 1961 graduate of Manchester High School, and had served six years in the Army National Guard. Prior to retiring in 1993, he was an engineer at Pratt & Whitney Air­craft, East Hartford, for 33 years and after retiring was employed for six years by Sunrise Northeast, Hartford. He was a member of Manchester Lodge No. 73 AF & AM and an avid snowmobiler, and he loved his home in Vermont.

Besides his wife, Christina, and his mother, Elsie, Andrew is sur­vived by a son, Gary R. Calve and his wife, Dawn L. Calve, of Andover; a daughter, Dawn E. Gould and her husband, Kevin J. Gould, of Andover, and two broth­ers,John J. Calve and his wife, Diane, of Bolton, and Albert B. Calve and his wife, Doreen, of Man­chester. He was known as “Papa” to his three grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, and Andrew, and he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will follow in Townsend Cemetery, Andover.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday.
