I met Alma 63 years ago when we were five and entering kindergarten at the old South School.  I spent many hours at her house all during grammar school.  We were in Girl Scouts together and sang with their glee club. We ice skated at Charter Oak and Center Springs Park.  I have many fond memories from my childhood and most of them included her.  We reconnected several times during our adult years and most recently she sent me a note telling me about her heart transplant and how much she was looking forward to attending tonight's function.  I was so sad when I picked up the paper this morning to see that she had passed away on Thursday.  Rest in peace Alma.
