I.  CALL TO ORDER

Vivian Turingan, Chairperson of the St. Anthony School Batch 1986, called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.

 

II. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE PREVIOUS MINUTES

     On Batch ’86 directory

-       The Chairperson reminded the attendees to encourage other batch mates to sign up to stanthonyschoolmanilabatch86@yahoogroups.com and to the exclusive website of the group http://sasbatch86.com to update the directory and to determine the number of persons attending the Grand Reunion on 2011.

 

On Finalization of the Officers and Board Members

-        The body agreed to relieve Oliver Llanza from his position as Auditor and  Vicente Concepcion is the newly appointed Auditor.

-        The final set of Officers for the St. Anthony School Batch ’86 Alumni Homecoming and Board of Directors are

-       The body also agreed that all officers should always be present during the monthly meeting.

 

On Finalization of the theme

-       Finalist for the selection of the theme for the 2011 Homecoming are the following:

a.  UNITY IN DIVERSITY

b.  THE HOMECOMING

c.  DEJA VU

d.  FUSION BEYOND GENERATIONS

e.  BELIEVE AND ACHIEVE

f.  UNITED WE ROCK, IN ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE PROGRESS

g.  ANTHONIANS: GREATER HEIGHTS AND LONGER REACH

-        Based on the referendum made, the theme for the 2011 Annual Homecoming is “Greater Heights and Longer Reach” with the removal of the word “ANTHONIANS”

-       Aldrin Galang suggested that minor revisions must be made regarding the “Longer Reach” wordings.  The title will be subjected to a copywriter through the help of Aldrin Galang.

 

III. MINUTES THE MEETING

On Fundraising Ideas

-        The body agreed to open a savings account at BPI Dasmarinas Cavite branch with the help of Robert Ojeda.  The signatories of the said account are Vivian Turingan, Robert Ojeda, and Vicente Concepcion. The savings account number will be posted in the website and yahoo groups to accommodate pledges and contributions.

-        Bob Asnani,  Robert Ojeda, and Joyce dela Cruz donated Php2,000.00, Php 1,000.00 and Php 500.00 respectively for this purpose. 

-        Francis Mendoza told the body that at least Php 1,000,000.00 must be raised for the homecoming. Because of this, he suggested that during monthly meetings, a voluntary collection of Php 500.00 shall be made.   The collection will start on the next monthly meetings.

-        The following fundraising activities were suggested:

a.  Basketball Tournament

b.  Badminton Tournament

c.  Club / House Party

d.  Astro Camp / Stargazing Activity

e.  Concert

f.  Bingo Social

g.  Garage Sale / “Ukay-Ukay”

h.  Fun Run / Walk for a cause activity

i.   Wakeboarding

     -   The body was informed that not all activities can be made this year    

         because some of the fund raising activities suggested are already being

          done by the organizers of the 2010 homecoming and it may create a spark

          between the two batches.  Also, the body cannot use the name of the  

          school, St. Anthony, for these activities for the year 2009.

 

    On Calendar of Activities

-        March 21 – 22, 2009 Garage Sale / “Ukay-Ukay” Activity

The body will bring their used clothing/items on the next monthly meeting.  The venue of garage sale / “ukay-ukay” will be determined by Richard Acoymo and will inform the body through email blast. 

-        April 2009 Bingo Social

The committee members for this event are:  Pio Mirabueno, Francis Fineza, Allan Escano, and Peter Pangilinan. Details will be discussed on the next monthly meeting.

-        May / June 2009 Band Concert / House Party

The committee members for this event are: Frederick Flores, Bob Asnani, Rey Tiongco, and Romeo Peralta.

-        June / July 2009 Movie Premier

Pio Mirabueno will inquire on how to go about sponsoring a movie premier and details will be discussed on the next monthly meeting.

-        Other Activities will be scheduled/discussed on the next monthly meeting.

 

Other Matters

-        Batch 85 is requesting for support to the ballroom dancing activity they sponsored on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Byke’s Café, Lancaster Hotel, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. Time 7:30pm.  In line with this, the following persons will attend the said activity: Frederick Flores, Mike Dionisio, Romeo Peralta, Max Maximillan, Jimmy Meuco, Lucky Cruz, Romeo de los Reyes, Joey Magundayao, Bob Asnani, and Allan Escano.

-        The next monthly meeting is scheduled on March 14, 2009 at Mike Dionisio’s Place, 20 MJS Avenue, Levitown Executive Homes, Better Living Subdivision, Paranaque City.

-        The venue for the monthly meeting on April will be the Residences of Eugene Del Rosario in Pasig.

-        Attendees on the next meeting will be given assigned food/beverage to bring by the chairperson. 

IV. ADJOURNMENT

Having no more things to discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 PM by Vivian Turingan, chairperson.
