Carey Turczynski

Carey Jon Turczynski, 48, formerly of Manitowoc, Wis., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, in Tucson, Ariz.  He was hit by vehicle while crossing highway in Tuscon, Arizona.

He was born Oct. 12, 1965, in Manitowoc, the son of Ms. Sally (Mott) Turczynski and the late Roy Turczynski.

Carey attended school in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1983.

He had participated in track and was a medalist. He loved the outdoors and did a lot of biking and cray fishing (with a fork!). Football, baseball and frisbie golf were also high on his list of things to do.

Later, in 1983, he decided to move to Denver, Colo., where he attended college in Durango, Colo. He also worked as a plumber's helper while in Denver.

Later in 1985, he decided to move back to Manitowoc and get a job.

In 1995, he decided to visit Seattle, Wash. He worked at Great Floors, a carpet shop as a warehouse specialist. Carey always wore his Packers shirt to work on Sunday in Seahawk Country.

In January of 2014, he left Seattle, Wash., to go to Tucson, Ariz.

Carey Jon is survived by his mom, Sally Turczynski, Two Rivers; a brother, Terry Turczynski, Two Rivers; a sister, Karin (Ron) Stinson, Carlisle, Penn.; a sister, Christi (John) McCoy, Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Joy (significant other, Jim Blaha) Turczynski, Two Rivers; a brother, Todd Turczynski, St. Louis, Mo.; and a brother, Scott (Bonnie) Turczynski, Manitowoc. Uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews also survive.

Carey Jon was cremated in Tucson, Ariz. and the funeral services and burial will be held at a later date his summer, in Manitowoc, Wis. - See more.
