It is with heavy heart that the family of Mike Van Riper announces his passing on July 3, 2018 at the age of 67 years.
Mike joined the U.S. Marine Corps in January of 1969 and was honored to have served for twenty years and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. After military service, Mike worked as a Field Service Representative/Military Product Support Engineer for Bell Helicopter for an additional 23 years. While working for Bell Helicopter in South Korea he met the love of his life, his wife Susan. They enjoyed a grand life together for the past 22 years.
Mike was passionate about life, his family and friends. He was an avid hunter, golfer, culinary enthusiast, and “professional” story teller. He will truly be missed.
A Funeral Service in memory of Mike will be held Monday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m., at Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
Visitation is Sunday, July 8 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home.
