It was sad to learn of Ricky's passing.  His obituary is from November of 2011.   My first home in Marblehead was on Sapphire road, across the street from the Garfields,  which was how I met Rickey.   I remember that Ricky had a great head of hair that always seemed to drop a dark curl across his forehead.  I am sure it drove the girls crazy and he probably broke a few hearts growing up.

I remember Ricky Garfield. He was in my homeroom and was always cuttinng uo and making funny jokes and comments. One Friday afternoon in late November he announced that our president at the time, John F, Kennedy had just been shot and killed in Texas. I thought he was kidding around as usual and didn't believe him. Upon my arriving home, I happend to mentioned that incident in homeroom to my mother and my younger brother and sisters. My Mom gave me a stern look and said  I was mistaken and JFK had really been shot and killed. After finding out that the news was true, I cried. It was a beautiful sunny fall afternoon and I had  been cheerful until I learned that our president was was shot to death. I was sorry today to read about the death of Ricky Garfield. I feel blessed and grateful that I am healthy and alive.
