Monety Oliver, a great friend and a tough father.
I remember him in high school as the one who picked on the teachers and principles, he said and did very strange things no one else ever thought of. He made everybody laugh, no matter how you felt that day, when Montey finished with you, you felt different. Montey was the one who wanted to see a smile on everybody's face. I never knew him to have any enemies, nor ever seen a frown on his face
Because of Montey, The Class of "84" was the first class in Marianna to have men on the cheerleading squad. Montey broke track records every year in State and Regional track meets. His Mother still have the 1st place ribbons at her home today.

Montey Oliver continued to live a happy and adventurous life after high school. It was a pleasure being his friend for 28 years and the mother of his children. Montey lived his life to the fulliest and wanted the best for his family.
He left behind 5 children 1 son and 4 daughters.

The night before he passed, I sat by his bedside thinking and thanking. I prayed for more time with him but GOD saId different. I thank GOD for the 28 years Montey was in my life.

Montey were like a brother to me. I remember the first time I met him. He was a very laid back kind of guy from Chicago, IL. He fit in around everyone that lived on or near TEXAS STREET (the hood) sometimes he would make me so mad, and when I got close to him he could run like a rabbit. He used to get on top of houses and do backward flips like it was nothing. If you told him he could not do something he would make you a believer.

Rest in peace!

Montey Oliver, what a fool. He was also a friend to all. I remember at cheerleader practice, Montey would make Ms. Eggerson so mad and I would encourage him to keep doing things to make her even madder. Lol Like Alesia stated, Montey was a great father, friend, cheerleader, track star, and many other things. I never thought I would laugh so much until I met Montey Oliver. He made a joke out of everything. I would never forget the time when we were at T. A. Futrell, Montey, Dwight, and Milton done something really crazy that pissed off Mr. Robinson, our principal. Mr. Robinson called them into his office and cursed them out. I was outside the door killing myself laughing.Montey walked out of Mr. Robinson's office with a smile and said " Do you know what got me where I am today, ATTITUDE". You know that was Mr. Robinson's favorite speech when you went into his office. I miss Montey Oliver, Rah Rah, Rest in peace.
