Harold J. Apple

Harold James "Jim" Apple, 58, of Fleming died at 2:44 a.m. Friday June 29, 2001, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 6, 1942, in Marietta to Harold Bingham Apple and Eileen Morris Russell. He had worked at Fenton Art Glass for the past 37 years. He was a member of Bethel Lighthouse Church, where he was an active member. He was a 1962 Marietta High School graduate. He had coached girls softball and was a sanctioned umpire for the American Softball Association. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Fox Apple, whom he married March 7, 1964; one daughter, Amy Apple of Fleming; his parents, Donald and Eileen Russell of Marietta; two brothers, David Russell and his wife Cathy, of Marietta and Michael Russell and his wife, Nancy, of Marietta; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Nancy Dailey of Marietta and Dr. Thomas and Judy Forbes of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel Lighthouse Church with Pastor Gary Drake and the Rev. Linda Steelman officiating. Burial is in Warren Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call any time Sunday at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friends may also call for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
