Jon Barnes, 70, passed away on Oct. 24, 2014, after a short illness at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Jon briefly resided at The Marietta Center assisted living in Marietta, Ohio. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Jon Barnes was a lifelong resident of Marietta. He was born June 5, 1944, to Gibson C. Barnes and Laure Bougamont.
He is survived by his two brothers and three sisters, brother, Ted and Cynthia Barnes, sister, Sue and Tom Upright, brother, Tim and Connie Barnes, sister, Jan and Scotty Hamilton, and sister, Joy and Mike Durnell. He was blessed with 21 nieces and nephews and 41 great-nieces and nephews. Nothing gave him more joy than spending time with them.
He spent many years involved in flying, farming, and horticulture, and he had many life long friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
