Hershel Cline

RENO - Hershel Wayne "Smoke" Cline, 57, of Star Route, Reno, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Camden- Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.
He was born April 24, 1943, in Marietta to Charles O. and Freda Schneider Cline. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1962 and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Cline was employed by Magnetic Specialty Inc., where he worked in the shipping and receiving department.
He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose 1823. He enjoyed the outdoors and playing and coaching softball. He played for the Mahone Tire team. He also bowled in several leagues.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Barnhart Cline, whom he married Aug. 5, 1967, in Friendly, W.Va.; one son, Michael Cline of Reno; one daughter, Debbie Cline of Marietta; his mother of Reno; three grandchildren, Jessica, Shane and Ashley Cline; one brother, James L. Cline and his wife, Linda, of Reno; and two nephews, Shannon and Ben Cline of Reno.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hadley Funeral Home in Marietta. Entombment is in East Lawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
