Jackie Carolyn Stevens, 59, of 100 Holly St., Marietta, died at 3:18 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2003 at Harmar Place Care Center.

She was born April 22, 1944, in Marietta to Herbert G. and Caroline hawkins Edgell Sr. She graduated from Marietta High School with the class of 1962, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated from Camden-Clark School of Nursing for 1962 to 1964. She worked for Marietta Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk and a licensed practical nurse from 1964 to 1977. She then went to work at Marie Antoinette on Seventh Street, which later became Harmar Place and she worked there from 1977 to 2003, when her health failed. She enjoyed her work, friends, camping and fishing with her family, and taking care of her grandchildren and children.

She is survived by her husband, F.L. "Steve" Stevens, whom she married on Oct. 22, 1977, in Marietta; two sons, Chris Sprague and his wife, Virginia, of Waterford and Brian Ritchie and his wife, Deanna, of Marietta; two daughters, Carol Bell and her friend, Jeff Miller, of Parkersburg and Cheryl Huff and her husband, Phil, of McConnelsville; six grandchildren, Chauntel Sprague, Kristin Noland and Kassandra Noland, who made their home with Jackie since 1992, Nathan Sprague and Brooke Sprague of Marietta, and Tyler Domino of McConnelsville; four stepgrandchildren, Chad Huff, Keith Huff and Melinda and Michelle Lemley, all of Marietta; two great-grandsons, Jacob Snyder and John Williams, both of Marietta; one brother, Harry Eugene West and his wife, Bonnie, of Colorado; one sister, Lula Mae Winn of Columbus; and one sister-in-law, Joanna Edgell of Marietta.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Marilyn West, Bonnie Mugrage Taylor and Yolanda Watson; and one brother, Herbert G. "Sonny" Edgell Jr.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hadley Funeral Home, Reno Chapel 1021 Pike St., with the Rev. Adam Parchert officiating. Burial is at a later date. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
