John Edward Erb, 63, passed away Tuesday April 29, 2008 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Marietta, to Ernest Edward and Edith Lucille Hall Erb.

John was a 1968 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Law. He was a partner with the law firm of Theisen Brock.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dorothy J. Caulkins Erb. He is also survived by four children, Cindy (Doug) Holmes of Florence, Ky., Eric (Lynn) Erb of Marietta, Andrea (Eric) Jopperi of Akron, Ohio, and Jared Erb of Columbus, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Grace and Logan Holmes and Elissa and Isabelle Erb.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pamela White Erb; a brother, Donald Erb; and a sister, Mary Martha Erb Nees.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Craig Butler officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4  and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hadley Funeral Home, Fifth Street, Marietta.
