Classmate Evelyn Karcher Passes Away

Evelyn Tanya Lenhart, 74, of Lowell, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019.
She was born on July 3, 1944 in Marietta, Ohio, to Merle Lee Karcher and Thelma Pauline (Berga) Karcher.
Evelyn was a 1962 graduate of Marietta High School. She had worked for Bonhams Department Store and Marietta City Schools. Evelyn was a member of the Lowell United Methodist Church and Lowell Legion Auxiliary. She loved painting ceramics and colleting Fenton.
She is survived by her husband, James B. Lenhart, whom she married on June 17, 1964; four children, Sherri Padgitt, Scott Lenhart (Vickie), Doug Lenhart (Stephanie) and Susan Ginther. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Erin Padgitt (Jason Miller), Amanda Clark (Jonas), Taylor Padgitt, Michael, Thomas and Steven Lenhart, and Derek, Brent and Mitchell Ginther and great grandchildren, Mikenna, Aisley and Adelynn Clark. One sister, Jacqueline Brown survives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son in law, Timothy Ginther; and seven siblings.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Lowell United Methodist Church, with Darla Schnegg officiating. Family will greet friends for two hours prior to the services. Burial of ashes will be in Newport Cemetery at a later time.
