Dee and I were best friends for many years in Junior High and High School. Then we both went to Kilgore and  were room mates at SFA for those years and he was in my wedding in 1967. He and his wife Patty met at SFA. She is in a different  health facility herself and I was told could visit Dee where he was. He had a lot of medical issues in the past years. His son described his condition as one lung, a piece of a colon, 2/3 of a witty mastermind, paralyzed from the waist down. and one little club hand that barely worked. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, but in the end, he is at peace now and without pain and suffering. May God bless his family and may he now rest in peace. I will miss "The Little Red Rooster" that we all called him in college.

Dee and I were classmates from Ms Simpson's first grade at Sam Houston all the way thru Marshall Sr High. He was a "demon" on the football field as I remember. He was a truly nice guy and the world is worse for his loss although he is in a better place.

In High school considered Dee a friend.  It is sad to lose anyone from our school family.  With his passing not having the pains and problems seems best for him.  We all know that once Family and Friends lose someone special we can never have that special touch again.  But we then fall back on and use and share all the special memories that were made.  Dee will be missed.
