Obituary for Robert Wheeler

Robert Lee Wheeler, Jr.
Services for Robert Lee Wheeler, Jr., 68, of Harleton will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home in Longview, 4619 Judson Road, with Pastor Will Sherman and Rev. Harry Brown officiating. Burial without graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. at Center Cemetery in Harleton. Mr. Wheeler passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at Margaret’s House.
Mr. Wheeler was born May 30, 1944, in Pittsburg, Texas to Robert Lee Sr. and Virginia Jewel Pruitt Wheeler. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1962 and was a Master Sgt. in the USAF for 20 years. Mr. Wheeler toured Japan and also Thailand. He then retired from General Cable as a Lab Technician after 20 years. Mr. Wheeler was an active member of the Harleton Baptist Church and he loved all types of hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Kathy Wheeler.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife, Linda Wheeler of Harleton; one son, Randy Wheeler and wife, Kathleen of Harleton; one step-son, Harry Brown and wife, Brooke of Harleton; one step-daughter, Krista Joyce and husband, Cully of Colorado Springs, Co,; one brother, Steve Wheeler and wife, Gee Gee; one granddaughter, Callie Wheeler of Harleton; six step-grandchildren, Jadee Brown, Jackson Brown, Jolie Brown, Jenna Brown, Michelle Messick and Melanie Messick; two aunts, Clara Keasler of Longview and Loretta Reed of Gilmer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Lynda Pope of Round Rock, Texas; one niece, Natalie Post and one nephew, Steven Wheeler.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Pope and Buster Gribble.
