Linda Chase (Harvey)

Linda Lee Harvey, 76, of Marshalltown, passed away on Christmas day, Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare.

Funeral services for Linda will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be the day before on Sunday, December 30 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Linda’s husband, Don, for designation at a later time. Linda Lee Chase was born on September 2, 1942, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Floyd and Gretchen Petrie Chase. She went on to Marshalltown Community College Nursing School to receive her LPN. On September 25, 1958, Linda was united in marriage to Donald Harvey in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Don and Linda lived in San Diego, California, for 4 years while Don was serving his country in the United States Navy then after that, they came back and called Marshalltown home for good.

Linda had worked as a LPN for McFadden, Eggers, Briggs and Graeff OBGYN clinic and then worked for the Marshalltown Hospital where she retired from and then helped do book work for the plumbing and heating company that her and Don owned. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and watching “Ghost Whisper,” “Ghost Adventurers” and “American Pickers.” Above all else, Linda enjoyed the time she was able to spend and play with her grandchildren. Linda was known to treat everyone in the neighborhood just as she would her own children and welcomed anyone into her home.

Linda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Don and their children: Tammy (Scott) Allen, of Newton, Penny Berry, of Quincy, Illinois, Doug (Hope) Harvey, of Marshalltown, Donnie (Paige) Harvey, of Marshalltown and Mindy Harvey, of Marshalltown. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kimberly, Devin, Selena, Allison, Michael, Brian, Katie, Jacob, Marvea, Mykal, Peyton, Chase, Kelsey, Sabra and Madison as well as ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Gretchen; and sisters: JoAnne, Joy Belle and Beverly.
