Robert William Cope, 66

Robert William Cope, 66, of Marshalltown, died Friday, April 10th, 2009, at home while under the care of Iowa River Hospice.  A graveside remembrance will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15 th, 2009, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens

Robert was born in Marshalltown to Archie and Dorothy (Curson) Cope.  He went to high school in Marshalltown, Iowa, and then joined the Army and later retiring from GTE.  He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, and gardening.

In death, he rejoins his parents and two brothers.

Gilman, Iowa - Though I knew Bob for a short time, we got to be close friends.  I thank Bob for the special thing he did give me, my husband.  I will miss Bob's Humor, and his constantly telling me to leave his cheese alone.  Bob, I hope you rest easy and have no more pain, and know that Pooh is happy in his knew home.

Marshalltown, Iowa - Bob was a great neighbor to our daughter and family, Ginger and Dennis.  They will miss his kindness and friendship so much.
