So very sorry to hear of Sharon's passing.  She and I were BFFs before and throughout elementary school, having sleepovers at her Grandma and Grandpa Hilquist's, and later, at the Kimberlins' after they built their own home.

After I moved away from the neighborhood where we'd shared our childhood, we played on the back roof where I lived above Morrie's restaurant on Main Street.

We more or less went our separate ways during junior high, and I saw her for the first time since high school at our 50th class reunion, where we exchanged addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses.  She wrote to me, reminiscing about our youth and all the crazy things we'd done together, growing up.

Today, I just thought to look her up online and was shocked to find her obituary.  I was in M'town in early June for the scattering of my sister's ashes and didn't even know she'd passed.  She'll be sadly missed.

I am saddened to hear of Sharon's passing. So many happy memories of Marshalltown and Sharon, of  Kim's drive in and Kim.  She was a most energetic person and had a smile for everyone she met.

My sympathy goes out to her family members.

with love,

Nancy
