David Roger Lawrence, 68, died at his home in Oceanside, California on October 18, 2010. He is the son of Lester and Donna Lawrence of Marshalltown.
He met Janice "Jan" Busskohl in Colorado and they were married in 1965 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Dave was senior class president of the 1960 graduating class of Marshalltown High School. He participated in football and track and played a major role in Marshalltown's run to the 1960 State Championship Basketball title. Dave was a graduate of Colorado State University in Construction Management. After graduation from CSU, he was a building contractor in Colorado for over 20 years before retiring in California.
Besides his wife, Jan of Oceanside, CA, Dave is survived by his Mother, Donna Lawrence, and two sisters, Marilyn Wentzien (Ralph) of Fort Madison, Iowa and Diane Smith of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by father, Lester and brother, Dana.
According to his wishes his body has been cremated. Services will be held at a later date.
