Marlene Lynch (Troehler) VIEW PROFILE

Marlene Troehler, 80, of Princeton, Minnesota, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri and longtime resident of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed peacefully on July 26, 2022 at Elim Wellspring in Princeton with her daughters near her.

Graveside services for Marlene will take place on Saturday, August 6 at 11:00 A.M. at the Vienna Cemetery in Beaman, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Born Marlene Lynch on June 13, 1942 in Grundy Center, Iowa, she was the daughter of Ralph and Josephine (Runner) Lynch. The family relocated to Marshalltown, where she graduated from Marshalltown High School. She was married to Milton Lloyd Troehler Jr. in May of 1965 and they were blessed with two beautiful daughters. They were later divorced.

Marlene worked at Walmart in Marshalltown in the sewing and craft department, where she enjoyed visiting her regular customers and talking with them about their projects. Sewing was not just a job, it was also her passion. She loved to cross stitch and was part of a craft club that met at the Marshalltown Community Center for many years. Marlene was also a member of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America.

After retiring in 2008, she moved to St. Louis, Missouri to be near her daughter, Lisa. She then moved in 2018 to Princeton, Minnesota to be near her daughter, Andrea.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown and the First Presbyterian-Kirkwood in St. Louis. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to music, gardening, and her pets. She was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Andrea (Clayton) Zednichek of Princeton, MN and Lisa (Matt) of Eureka, MO; her brother, Dennis (Janice) Lynch of Fort Collins, CO and several nieces and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents, Ralph and Josephine and her sister, Joyce Lynch.
