… Until We Meet Again ~

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile,

If only we could have you back for just a little while.

Then we could sit and talk again just like we use to do,

You always meant so very much and always will do, too.

The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause us pain

But you’re forever in our hearts until we meet again. ~

David Norland, 75, formerly of Marshalltown, died of cancer February 17, near his home in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, under hospice care.

David was born August 23, 1942, in Marshalltown to Paul H. and Lois Estel Norland. He was educated in the city’s schools, graduating in 1960 from Marshalltown High School and Marshalltown Junior College

in 1962. He continued his education at the University of Iowa, earning a degree in business administration in 1964. While at Iowa, he was a student athletic trainer for the Hawkeye men’s football and basketball teams.

After graduation, he worked in Marshalltown and Cedar Falls, before moving to Minnesota in 1970. He spent most his professional career in industrial diesel and gasoline engine sales.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Marshalltown, later joining the United Church of Christ in Anoka, Minnesota.

David remained a big Hawkeye fan, driving to Iowa City several times a year to cheer on the football and basketball teams, and to tailgate with fellow fans.

He is survived by his brother, Dean, of Washington, DC.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 12, at Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown. The Anderson Funeral Home, Marshalltown, is assisting the family.

Classmates, I just read this in our today’s T-R, March 8, and wanted to share with you. David never missed a class reunion, loved attending, and will be missed by all our classmates. He is #97 deceased from our class.

Blessings to you all from Anita ~ baelmore@heartofiowa.net
