Connie Beaty, 54

Connie Beaty, 54, of the Villa Del Sol, formerly of 408 W. High St. died Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Villa Del Sol.

Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Phil King of the First Friends Church officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 5-9 p.m. at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home where the family will be present from 7-8:30 p.m.

She was born March 18, 1942 in Marshalltown to Walter "Pete" and Katherine Morrison Buchwald.  She received her education and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1960.

She married Frank Beaty in 1964 .  She worked for Strand Baking in Marshalltown for 10 years until its closing and later worked for Cooper Manufacturing for 18 years.

Survivors include a son, John Beaty of Marshalltown; her mother, Katherine  Morrison Buchwald of Marshalltown; three granddaughters; a sister, Diana (Mrs. Larry) Nichols of Marshalltown; and a brother, Guy Buchwald of Ames.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Services for Connie Beaty, 54, of the Villa Del Sol who died Thursday, Dec. 14 were held Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Lakeview Chapel at the Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Phil King of the First Friends Church officiating.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Bearers were Dan Nichols, Joseph Buchwald, Thomas Buchwald, Patrick Nichols, Timothy Buchwald and Robert Buchwald.

Honorary Bearers, were Jack Nichols, Deb Gruver and Carol Hawn.

The Estel-Perrin- Avey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Connie and I go way back too, at Glick Elementary. I didn't know her well, but was acquainted with both her and her older sister, Diana.

You are missed, Connie.
