Nancy Finders Dead at 36

Nancy L. Finders, 36 of the High Street Trailer Court, died Monday evening at the University Hospital in Iowa City.  She had been suffering a kidney disease for the past eight years.

Born Jan. 18, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Gordon and Irene Michalsen Finders Sr.  She received her education in the Ferguson and Marshalltown schools, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1960.   Later she was graduated from Marshalltown School of Nursing as a licensed practical nurse in 1971 and was employed at the Iowa Veterans Home. 

She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and the Weslyan Church. 

Surviving are a daughter, Kristin, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Finders, of Marshalltown, four brothers, and a sister;  Gordon Finders Jr., Douglas Finders and Gary, all of Marshalltown, James Finders McClure of Bellingham, Washington, and Laurie Finders of Marshalltown.

Service will be at the Chapel of Estel-Perrin Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Michael Tullis, pastor of the Weslyan Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  A memorial fund is being established.  Friends may call at Estel-Perrin's after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

What a sweetie she was. She and I used to talk in SL about being related...the Finders and Hilsabecks being from Ferguson.

Bless you, Nancy. Such a loss we've all suffered.
