Obituary for Joan Kay Arney
Joan Kay Arney, 78 of Scanlon passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. She was born April 9, 1942 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Henry and Myra (Schaper) Willia. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1960.
Joan worked as a nurse at Nopeming for many years. She was a member of the Carlton County Master Gardeners. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and had a passion for caring for animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Schmidt; and her sister, Janice Hofer.
There will be no formal funeral service. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In memory of Joan, please be kind and watch out for your neighbors.
