David Allen Baker, 54, Martinsville, died at 4:16 pm Feb. 12, 2005, at Morgan County Hospital & Medical Center in Martinsville.

The son of the late William Forrest and Inez Estella (Hacker) Baker, he was born Dec. 15, 1950 in Martinsville. His wife, Donna (Stierwalt) Baker, whom he married Oct. 27, 1968, survives.

Baker was a heavy equipment operator for Smock Excavating in Indianapolis. He was member of the 252 Church of the Firstborn. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, horseback riding, family, friends and especially loved playing with his grandchildren.

Other survivors include two sons, Chad Allen and Mark Allen Baker, both of Martinsville, daughter, Kimberly Sue Gray, Martinsville; two brothers, Lawrence Jo Baker, Apple Valley, Calif., and James Leon Baker, Morgantown; three sisters, Mary grace Jackson and Sharon Kay Ferris, both of Martinsville, and Janet Rose Spurlock, Coatesville, Ind., and three grandchildren, Leina and Anna Baker, Tyler Gray.

Three brothers, Loren Jack, Ivan Dale and Lee Andrew Baker and a sister Ruth Ann Poe, preceded him in death.
