Barbara Jane Brown (Baker)

Barbara J. Baker, 65, of Martinsville, suddenly passed from her earthly life and went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2016, due to a tragic automobile accident, after leaving church on Sunday evening. She was born on November 7, 1950, in Martinsville, to the late Eldon Brown and Ida Mae (Elliott) Hacker.
Barb attended Martinsville High School and worked at Harman Motive/ Harman Becker in Martinsville for 13 years. A devoted follower of Christ, Barb was an active member of the Paragon Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding the birds and watching western movies. In addition, she liked going to the racetracks in Paragon to watch her husband, Donnie race stock cars. Barb loved life, Jesus, animals, being outside and spending time with her family. Her outgoing, honest, trusting, and loving personality will be deeply missed by those who were blessed to know her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Brown and Scott Hacker; nieces, Brenda Henry and Kathy Vaines and a great nephew, Travis Henry.
Survivors include her husband, Donnie Baker, to whom she was united in marriage on June 4, 1994; children, Gary Allen of Mooresville, Ricky and Randy Allen both of Paragon and Rebecca Allen of Martinsville; siblings, Charollette Henry of Paragon, Charles Troxell of Paragon, Judy O'Neal of Martinsville, Nancy Turnbowl of Indianapolis, Beverly Harper of Martinsville and Billie Jo Whitaker of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Dustin, Ashley, Amanda, Jeremiah, Katrisha, Jordan, Madajah, Sophia, Tyler, Halee, Shasha; 14 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Friends and family will gather from 5-7pm, on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, in Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, Monrovia, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 7pm. A Graveside service will be held at 11am, on Thursday, February 25. 2016, in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall.
