Ardena Kay Russ (Rhoden)

Mrs. Ardena Kay Rhoden gave birth to her first child, a son at about 6 o’clock Saturday morning, and at 11:30 the same morning, complications arose from which she died. She and her husband, Kenneth, whom she married Nov 8, 1969, made their home at 390 W Sumner Ave, and it was here Mrs. Rhoden’s death occurred.

The daughter of Mrs. Talue Ann Watkins of Sunrise Addition and the late Robert David Russ, she was born in Johnson County July 10, 1951. The 19 year old woman graduated from Martinsville High School in 1969, where she was active in several organizations and was varsity cheerleader. In her junior year at high school, she received the outstanding cheerleader award.

Mrs. Rhoden spent most of her life in Morgan County. She was a member of the First Born and was employed at the Indiana Insurance Co. in Indianapolis.

Survivors beside the husband and infant son, Robert Harold, include a brother, David Lee, serving with the U.S Army in Okinawa, and a grandmother, Mrs Louise Cook of Morgantown.

Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Neal and Summers Chapel with Brother Eddie Merriman officiating. Burial will take place in the East Hill Cemetery at Morgantown and friends may call at the funeral home any time.
